Common questions.
- Shade or full cover: which do I want?
- An open pergola breaks up the sun and keeps the space feeling airy, but it will not keep you dry in rain. A solid or panel-covered roof gives you all-weather use and changes how the structure is framed and drained. Tell us how you plan to use the space and we'll build for that; every estimate is free.
- What materials do you use?
- Cedar is our default for the look and how well it holds up in valley sun. We also build in pressure-treated framing with cedar or composite trim, and we can add powder-coated hardware for a cleaner line.
- Can you anchor a pergola on concrete or pavers?
- Yes. On concrete we anchor through standoff post bases so the post bottoms stay dry. On pavers we usually pull a few units and set proper footings underneath, then reset the pavers around the base.
- How long does a pergola take to build?
- Most pergolas are up in two to five days on site once materials arrive, and larger or covered structures take longer. Footings need cure time before framing, so we plan the schedule around that and give you the window in writing.
